Key points for geomembrane construction

2025-08-16

The geomembrane produced usually refers to polyethylene geomembrane, which is composed of main raw materials such as polyethylene resin, carbon black, antioxidant and anti-aging masterbatch. Geomembranes made by blow molding must be cut open, flattened and wound in a single layer before being rolled up. Geomembrane is widely used in desert tree-planting projects. It can bring a lot of benefits to our projects and also make our deserts look like many oases.

After the Hdpe Geomembrane is covered, it should be pressed down with cement square bricks or car tires to prevent it from being blown away by the wind. The distance between the pressed blocks should not exceed 2000mm. On the slope, plastic ropes or geomembrane strips should be connected between the pressed blocks to weld them as a stabilizing measure. Therefore, in the analysis of the friction characteristics of the contact surface between geomembrane and geotextile tested by the inclined plate tester, it is required that the test contact area be no less than 200mm. This also requires that during the construction of the project, not only the protection of the composite geotextile itself should be paid attention to, but also the quality of the bottom support layer and protective layer should be taken into account. When welding the geomembrane and geotextile, to ensure the bonding quality of the composite geomembrane, the hot-melt welding method is generally used. During the welding process, it is necessary to pay attention to controlling the welding speed to be moderate. And the dimensions and fit between the geomembrane and the geotextiles on both sides.
